Which Windows versions are supported? +
LilacShot is built for Windows 10 and Windows 11 (64-bit) and supports multi-monitor setups and system tray operation.
Where are my shared screenshots and recordings stored? +
LilacShot does not use an external proprietary cloud with hidden limits. When you choose to share online, files are uploaded directly to your own Google Drive account via the official API, and the shareable link is copied to your clipboard.
How does Local OCR and translation privacy work? +
Text recognition runs locally on your computer and supports multiple and mixed languages regardless of your UI language. Accuracy depends on font clarity, size, and image quality. Recognized text is sent to Google Translate only if you explicitly press the Translate button.
How do Protected Screenshots work? +
Enabling the Lock icon asks for a 4-character code. Instead of a regular PNG/JPEG, LilacShot creates an HTML file containing a blurred preview and an encrypted original image. To unlock and view it, the recipient opens the HTML file in any compatible web browser with JavaScript enabled.
Do the Personal, Small Business, and Business plans have different features? +
No. All plans include the exact same application features. They differ only in commercial usage rights, number of covered users/seats, payment model (one-time vs. subscription), and priority support.
How do subscription renewals and updates work? +
Small Business is a one-time payment that includes free updates within the purchased major version. Business is a recurring monthly or annual subscription processed via Lemon Squeezy; you can manage seats or cancel auto-renewal at any time in your Account dashboard.
